THE SLOW TRAVEL NOTEBOOK · 3 MIN READ
Find your own pace.
There is no single right way to spend a day away. Your pace can change with the weather, your mood, and the place around you.
Listen to the first morning
You might arrive full of energy, or you might need a slower start than you expected. Give yourself permission to notice which one it is. Have breakfast, take a small walk, and make your first decision from there. A good plan can bend a little.
Let a place be more than a checklist
Return to the same café if you liked it. Sit in a square for longer than seems necessary. Walk a street twice because the light has changed. These small repetitions can make somewhere feel personal in a way that rushing between landmarks rarely does.
Keep the journey yours
Guides can offer a starting point, but they do not know how you feel today. Take what helps and leave what does not. A satisfying trip is one you enjoyed being in, rather than one you can prove you completed.
