THE SMALL PRINT

Your space stays yours.

Gotaway works without an account or our own advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Optional media is provided by external services.

Saved places

Bookmarks are stored in your browser’s local storage under the key gotaway.saved.v1. They are not uploaded to our server or shared between devices. You can remove individual bookmarks using the bookmark button, or clear all of them by clearing this site’s browser data.

Your trip plan

When you create a plan, your destination, number of days, and chosen pace are sent to the server to prepare the itinerary. The planner does not store these selections in a database. Downloads are generated in your browser.

Server logs

The web server may record technical access logs, including IP addresses, requested pages, request times, and browser user agents, for operation and troubleshooting. Search terms included in page URLs may also appear in those logs. Avoid entering personal or sensitive information in search fields.

Optional YouTube players

Film previews are served from our domain. No YouTube player or video thumbnail is requested until you choose “Load film”. This loads an embedded player from youtube-nocookie.com, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Video does not autoplay.

After loading the player, your browser connects directly to YouTube and related Google services. They may receive your IP address, browser information, and the referring site, and may use browser storage or cookies when you interact with the player. Privacy-enhanced mode does not make playback anonymous. You can remove the player using “Close player”, or choose “Watch on YouTube” to open the provider directly. See Google’s privacy policy.

Full-resolution photographs

Small previews are served from our domain. Opening a full-resolution photograph follows a redirect to images.unsplash.com. Your browser downloads the image directly from that service; Gotaway does not proxy or store the full-resolution file. Unsplash may receive your IP address and browser information. See Unsplash’s privacy policy.
